 Fiji - 22 February 2010

V Australia has applied for a variation of Determination [2008] IASC 117 to transfer to Pacific Blue Australia the 360 seats of capacity per week allocated by the Determination (V Australia application) – [PDFPDF: 88 KB]. Submissions about the application are invited. The closing date for notice of intention to make a submission is 1 March 2010, with submissions due by 8 March 2010 unless additional time is sought and agreed to by the Commission.

If no notice of intention is received by cob 1 March 2010, the Commission may proceed to decide the matters under consideration as soon as practicable after that date.

Update - 2 March 2010

On 2 March 2010 the Commission issued Decision [2010] IASC 201[PDFPDF: 120 KB] varying Determination [2008] IASC 117 as requested by transferring from V Australia to Pacific Blue Australia the allocation of 360 seats of capacity per week.


 Papua New Guinea

Qantas Airways Ltd (Qantas) has applied to the Commission for a variation to Determination [2006] IASC 129, which allocates capacity on the Papua New Guinea route, for continued authorization to use the capacity in code share services with Air New Guinea from 1 January 2010 until 31 December 2012 [PDFPDF: 419 KB]. Submissions about the application are invited. The closing date for notice of intention to make a submission is COB 23 July 2009, with submissions due by COB 30 July 2009 unless additional time is sought and agreed to by the Commission.

Update

On 12 August 2009, the Commission wrote to the ACCC inviting its views on the Qantas application. [PDFPDF: 48 KB]

Update - 3 December 2009

The Commission has now finalised draft determination [2009] IASC 216 [PDFPDF: 148 KB], which proposes to authorise continued code sharing between Qantas and Air Niugini until 30 June 2012. Submissions about the draft determination are invited. Interested parties will have until 10 December to make a submission.

Update - 17 December 2009

On 17 December 2009, the Commission issued Determination [2009] IASC 216 [PDFPDF: 158 KB] authorising the continued code share between Qantas and Air Niugini.
