The International Air Services Commission received an application [PDF: 463 KB] from Qantas seeking an allocation of unlimited capacity on the Fiji route between points in Australia other than Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, and authorised points in Fiji. Qantas' wholly-owned subsidiary, Jetstar Airways Pty Limited, plans to operate services between the Gold Coast and Fiji from March 2015. In accordance with section 12 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites other applications for the capacity.
The closing date for notice of intention to make an application is COB (i.e. 5pm) on 2 January 2015, with the application due by COB 9 January 2015. If no notice of intention is received by COB 2 January 2015, the Commission may proceed to make a decision.
On 6 January 2015, Delegate of the Commission issued Determination  IASC 101 [PDF: 1651 KB] , allocating unlimited capacity on the Fiji route between points in Australia other than Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, and points in Fiji.
