New Zealand - 30 July 2026

The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application from Qantas seeking to vary Determination [2023] IASC 123 which allocates unlimited passenger and freight capacity and frequency on the New Zealand route, to permit Finnair to code share on selected Jetstar operated services

Invitation for Submissions

In accordance with section 22 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites submissions about the transfer application. The closing date for making a submission is 13 August 2026

France (Route 1) and Korea - 29 July 2026

On 27 July, the International Air Services Commission (the Commission) received an application from Qantas requesting to renew the following determinations allocating capacity:

Korea

Determination [2022] IASC 113 which allocates 2,193 seats per week, subject to certain conditions, and permits Qantas' wholly-owned subsidiary Jetstar to utilise the capacity for code sharing with Finnair. 

France (Route 1)

Determination [2021] IASC 106 which allocates 250 one-way codeshare seats per week, subject to certain conditions, and permits Qantas to utilise the capacity for code sharing with British Airways, Emirates and Air France.

Philippines - 14 May 2026

The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application from Qantas seeking an allocation of two (2) frequencies per week on the Philippines route. From 25 October 2026, Qantas Airways Limited (Qantas) plans to operate an additional two weekly services between Brisbane and Manila using Airbus 321 aircraft configured with 197 seats.

Qantas has requested the capacity on the following basis:

Italy, Timor-Leste and Vietnam - 30 April 2026

On 29 April, the International Air Services Commission (the Commission) received an application from Qantas requesting to renew the following determinations allocating capacity:

Italy

Determination [2022] IASC 101 which allocates three frequencies per week, subject to certain conditions.

Timor-Leste

Determination [2022] IASC 112 which allocates five frequencies per week, subject to certain conditions.

Vietnam

Determination [2021] IASC 105 which allocates seven frequencies per week, subject to certain conditions.

Solomon Islands - 23 January 2026

The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application from Qantas seeking an allocation of 97 seats per week in each direction on the Solomon Islands route. From 29 March 2026, Qantas plans to operate an additional weekly service between Brisbane and Honiara using Embraer E190 aircraft configured with 97 seats, under a wet lease agreement with Alliance Airlines. 

Qantas has requested the capacity on the following basis:

Sri Lanka - 11 December 2025

The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application from Qantas seeking an allocation of three (3) frequencies per week on the Sri Lanka route. From 25 August 2026, Qantas’ wholly-owned subsidiary, Jetstar, plans to launch services between Melbourne and Colombo. 

Qantas has requested the capacity on the following basis:
