Korea - 19 February 2014

The Commission has received an application [PDF: 229 KB] from Virgin Australia seeking an allocation of 1,000 seats per week. Virgin Australia intend to implement code share services, as a marketing carrier, on flights operated by Singapore Airlines.

In accordance with section 22 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites applications for the capacity. The closing date for notice of intention to make an application is COB (i.e. 5 pm) on 26 February 2014, with the application due by COB 5 March 2014.

New Zealand - 14 February 2014

The Commission has received an application [PDF: 462 KB] from Qantas seeking a new allocation of unlimited passenger and freight capacity on the New Zealand route in order to include new conditions and consolidate various conditions contained in multiple decisions.

In accordance with section 12 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992 (the IASC Act), the Commission invites other applications for allocation of capacity on the New Zealand route.

Furthermore, as the Qantas’ application is also a variation of Determination [2006] IASC 109 to include new conditions, the Commission is inviting submissions about the application in accordance with section 22 of the IASC Act. Qantas is seeking permission to include the following new conditions:

Hong Kong - 14 February 2014

The Commission has received an application [PDF: 305 KB] from Qantas proposing a consolidation of its multiple determinations on the Hong Kong route. Qantas currently holds three determinations allocating a total of 25 frequencies per week on the Hong Kong route.

In accordance with section 12 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992 (the IASC Act), the Commission invites other applications for allocation of capacity on the Hong Kong route.

Various Routes - 14 February 2014

The Commission has received an application [PDF: 254 KB] from Qantas seeking to vary the following determinations to add a condition permitting Emirates to code share on Jetstar-operated services:

  • [2006] IASC 109, as varied—New Zealand route
  • [2007] IASC 116, as varied—Singapore route
  • [2013] IASC 115—Indonesia route.

In accordance with section 22 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites submissions about the application. Thailand - 14 February 2014

The Commission has received a set of applications [PDF: 376 KB] from Qantas seeking variations to various determinations on the Thailand route to effectively consolidate its multiple determinations on the route.

Qantas holds nine current determinations on the Thailand route which allocate a total of:

  • 12.6 B747 equivalent units per week in each direction for passenger services; and
  • 56 third country code share frequencies per week between Australia and Thailand.

The Commission has received an application [PDF: 367 KB] from Qantas seeking a variation to Determination [2006] IASC 109 to permit Japan Airlines to code share on Qantas operated services on the New Zealand route.

In accordance with section 22 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites submissions about Qantas’ proposed variation. The closing date for notice of intention to make a submission is COB (i.e. 5 pm) on 11 February 2014, with the submission due by COB 18 February 2014.

Renewal - Qantas - Philippines - 16 December 2013

The Commission has received an application [PDF: 251 KB] from Qantas to renew Determination [2008] IASC 123 which allocates 129 seats per week on the Philippines route. Other applications for the capacity are invited.

Indonesia - 04 November 2013

The Commission has received an application [PDF: 391 KB] from Qantas seeking variations to various determinations on the Indonesia route to effectively consolidate its multiple determinations on the route.

Qantas holds 10 determinations on the Indonesia route which allocate a total of:

  • 14,468 seats of capacity per week for the exercise of third and fourth freedom traffic rights; and
  • 2,146 seats with 12 frequencies per week, beyond Indonesia, seven of which may serve Denpasar.

Additionally, Qantas holds Determination [2013] IASC 135 which allocates unlimited passenger capacity on the route between points in Australia, except Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth and points in Indonesia, valid for 10 years.
